Senior Operations Engineer

You will be responsible for building and maintaining our application platform (including automation of deployment, assistance to developers in deploying software). You will also be responsible for the automation of systems installs and monitoring; the management of backup and recovery of systems and database systems and servers; and some end user support.
 
Your Responsibilities:
  • Perform general systems engineering duties including installation and support of Linux servers running 24/7 operations.
  • Manage backup and recovery of Linux servers as well as Oracle database servers
  • Perform light windows systems administration duties
  • Provide support as needed to developers to diagnose or deploy applications
  • Work closely with members of the technology department and other business groups to resolve development/production issues as they occur, refine and improve existing products, and define and clarify requirements for new products.
  • Recommend and install new technologies to meet our needs
 
Your Qualifications
Technical / Education
  • 3+ years of experience working in a production Unix environment, including, Linux, Python and Apache Tomcat
  • Experience with VMware Vsphere or other virtualization platforms
  • Experience with Web server configuration and support
  • Experience with Backup and recovery implementation
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as puppet or chef
  • Experience with Unix security policies and practices
  • Experience with software development (Java preferred)
  • Experience with continuous integration/delivery systems preferred
  • Experience with F5 Big-IP preferred
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
